As this overwhelming fultility of working to live, instead of embracing life itself descends over me, I think – WAIT! STOP! This is NOT for us! We are created for more than just living. More than just doing the daily busyness of life. More than just earning a wage so our family can consume more and be a part of the whole rat race idea. We have an inherent desrie in us to BE more, to LIVE more and to GIVE more. We feel like we need to break out of this groundhog day cycle of self centred living and do something different. After years of being a stay at home mum and focusing on the needs and concerns of my own kids, I want to shift the focus off my small world bubble and get out there and really make a difference somewhere. And I want this for my family too! So, We’ve been thinking…. We’ve financially supported friends of ours (Brent Heather, Micah and Nicki and Asher Madsen for 15 years now as they do the most amazing volunteer work in the city of Mazatlan,Mexico. We feel like it’s time – time to not only support them financially and to read all their e mail updates, but to actually get over there and see and experience first hand what they do on a daily basis to make a difference in Mazatlan. It’s just a seed of a vision – a vision that we have no idea how we can finance at this stage, but wouldn’t it be awesome if we could take our family out of little old Hamilton, out of school, out of sports practices, and out of busy life and experience with The Madsens, what Mazatlan has to offer? –Ange
