Why are they packing tools?

It’s 5:52 a.m on Travel Day Eve. Yes, I’m a morning person, but never quite this much of the morning!  I’m nervous! My mind is racing with so many thoughts at once and I’m anxious that I might miss one! And then there’s all the “what if’s”! What if I’ve forgotten something important? What if I haven’t packed enough? What if I’ve packed too much?! But, I’m not going to give life to anymore “what if’s”. Because I know, we are meant to go. And I know, that my God who has said ‘GO’, has also said ‘ENJOY’!

So, I’m excited! I’m over excited! I feel so fortunate that we have chosen to go and that 3 other families – 3 other sets of friends- are coming with us! I can’t wait to be in weather over 30 degrees! I can’t wait to swim in water that doesn’t make me flinch as it laps at my feet! I can’t wait to see the Madsen family and join in on life at the YWAM Base! I can’t wait to speak Spanish! I can’t wait to start the builds and to meet the families and to work along side them, and learn their life journey! I can’t wait to see how much this whole trip will impact my kid’s lives! I can’t wait to see what God has install for me.

So, no need for this day to swiftly pass. I want to enjoy every moment of the waiting. The anticipation is such a big part in making this an amazing family memory. All that is left to say is…..Thank you to all those other families who have generously and faithfully supported us in this venture, and……. Merry Travel Day Eve kids! – Ange

darrenStoked!, 2 years ago our family had a dream to build a house in Mexico, the Brown, Hall and Strong families caught the vision, joined with us and that dream evolved into building 2 houses with furniture kits, the goal was set to raise $25,000.00 NZD and here we are today, exceeding that goal, with the teams hard work and the generous gifts and support from others that dream is now a reality! I believe that this team was divinely established, no more evident in how each individuals strengths complimented each other. From the first $50.00 it has been a journey of faith no matter what the raised total, trusting and gaining a glimpse of Gods provision and His heart towards all of us.

We are going to radically change families’ lives by giving them a debt free home. Who knows how many generations will be changed by this and how this act will shape their future in who they become?Every person who has given and supported this project of purpose has established an active part in this journey. It has become your story too! – Darren

keelyWhat am I looking forward to? Everything! I want to go to Playa Sur and find the man that finger paints, and get another one of his paintings. I can’t wait to paint the houses we build. I hope I even get to paint some sort of art for the families in their new houses. It’s going to be everything positive! – Keely

saraidI can’t wait to swim with Brooke. I want to paint the houses. I kind of want to hammer in nails too, but I don’t want to hurt myself. I want to see Maxi, Daisy and Kiki – the Madsen family’s dogs. I can’t wait to have those big fruit smoothies! They are tall as! It’s going to be hot and hopefully I don’t puke again! I’m looking forward to spending time with all of the other families in the house, it will be like having a sleepover! I can’t wait to surf with Dad! 😀 ^-^ Saraid

cathanI’ve just woken up and realized – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR 6 WEEKS BABY! I can already hear the waves collapsing on the beach, calling me to come home. The beach. I can already hear the echoing of the tools constructing the houses. I am so excited, I just can’t wait to go and help the families and hang out with all my friends. I can’t wait to have fun with God and to hang out with Him in one of my favourite places on earth. All I can say is – Here I come Mexico! – Cathan
