Meet the Families

Scroll down for a short profile of  the 4 families that are heading to Mazatlan, Mexico in September 2014 to build 2 houses.

The Bowlers

Team Bowler consists of Darren, Ange, Cathan, Keely and Saraid. Darren is a Hamilton City Fire Fighter, Ange is a relief teacher and the kids go to the local primary, intermediate and secondary schools.  Project Purpose incorporates our core family beliefs of making a difference.

Our family look forward to returning to Mazatlan, Mexico this September. Prior our last visit in 2011, our heart has always been towards the country, Mazatlan city, and foremost – it’s people.

We personally have seen lives being radically changed and look forward to partnering with YWAM Mazatlan and Homes of Hope, impacting individuals, changing families’ lives and breaking the debilitating cycle of poverty. It is our hope that you can partner with us as we partner with Mazatlan families and build two homes in Mexico.

The Browns

Meet the Brown Family! Ross and Julie, Haylee, Jacob, Poppy, George and Thomas (and Grandma…..she’s staying home this time). We live on the outskirts of Hamilton where we run a residential building business. The children all attend local primary, intermediate and secondary schools. We have an awesome church family at City Bible Church in Hamilton. We love, coffee, cakes, camping, watersports, motorbikes, gardening and time with our precious friends and family.  For many years we have hoped for an overseas adventure where the whole family can give of themselves to those who need a helping hand, and where we will experience a totally different culture. Working with ‘Homes of Hope’ and ‘YWAM’ in Mazatlan, Mexico, fits this dream perfectly! We are excited about working alongside those doing God’s work with families living in poverty in Mazatlan, and seeing God work in us to grow us as a family. We see this as a totally life changing experience for us all, which at times will be fun and exciting, but will also be challenging and uncomfortable, yet hugely rewarding. Just can’t wait to get there!!

The Halls

The Halls are Jonathan (Jo), Shelley, Mia, Greta, Yasmin and Brooke

As a family we are looking forward to being part of this project, a project with the purpose of offering hope to two Mexican families.  Family, health, food, water and a place to live can easily be taken for granted in the modern world, but this is not the case everywhere and especially in Mazatlán, Mexico.  Homes of Hope and YWAM Mazatlán have already changed many lives and we can’t wait to be involved in this practical way.  It’s a time for two families to be lifted up and blessed, it’s a time for our family to learn and grow.  We are anticipating a time together as a family of hard work, fun, love, laughter, sweat, and tears.  A time to be reminded of all the blessings that God has given us.

The Strongs

We are a family who love to live on purpose.  We invest in doing life together as ‘Family’ and desire to see each family member fully alive in faith and purpose, living a meaningful life of contribution by serving others.  One of our values is Adventure and so we choose to live life “outside of the box called normal”, chasing opportunities to expand our view of God by expanding our view of His world.
